Dear Playwrights and Theater Institutions:
Here is the preliminary information about the National Endowment for the Arts’ New Play Development Program hosted by Arena Stage.  We will be updating this page in the following weeks with specific information about applying for the Program.  If you wish to receive emails when we have updated this page, you can enter your email address on the blog site for this Program. Note for playwrights:
You and a host theater will have to apply jointly to the Program, on behalf of your project.  Playwrights may not apply individually.  And the works will be developed at the applicant institutions, not at Arena Stage.  So it won’t help you on this particular opportunity to direct requests for project support in Arena’s direction. Other Arena programs for new plays and our complete submission policy are found on our website.
