Convenings
The Institute houses convenings and symposia that gather leaders in the field for roundtables and workshops to discuss new play development trends and best practices focused on contributing to the ongoing dialogue regarding the new play infrastructure nationwide. Proceedings are thoroughly documented through video recording, blogging, social media, and commissioned white papers. Each convening features an event that is free and open to the public. The first round of Convenings & Symposia were hosted on the campus of Georgetown University, in partnership with Georgetown’s Theater & Performance Studies Program.
In January 2011, the Institute hosted From Scarcity to Abundance: Capturing the Moment for the New Work Sector, at the Mead Center for American Theater.
